  • Introduction

Bryvonlea Droughtmaster offer Lot 75 -83 Females at the Cream of the Crop sale - Coolabunia, QLD on the 26th November 2022

Bryvonlea Droughtmaster Stud was established in 1998 and is owned and operated by Brian and Yvonne Heck at Glastonbury, Queensland, where 150 registered breeders run in 3 single sire herds over 600 acres of improved scrub country, steep and rough in places. Recently during the extreme dry of 2014, the Hecks were able to lease another 500 acres in the Glastonbury area enabling them to survive the dry without having to decrease numbers.

Original genetics were sourced at the Coolalinga Dispersal Sale and Gympie Female sales from recoginsed leading studs. A stringent selection criteria focusing on temperament, structure, fertility and breed character has seen Bryvonlea achieve top results at sales and broad ribbons in the show ring. 2013 saw the stud rewrite the records for the Droughtmaster National Female Sale, Bryvonlea Jemma 2 topped the sale for a record $18000 and the team of 4 unjoined females by Vale View Ripper made a record $12000 average.

After the initial use of top AI Genetics, Sires were purchased from Billabong, Glenlands and Vale View . Our new acquisition, Skye Wilfred, purchased at the DN 2014 Sale for the 2nd top price of $50,000, has commenced duties and we wait with anticipation for his first progeny to arrive Sept 2015.

Confidence in the quality of the studs breeding programme is evident in the achievement of repeated top prices in the sale ring at the major annual sales they attend including the Droughtmaster National Bull Sale (2nd top price), Bunya Bull Sale, Cream of the Crop Female Sale, February All Breeds Bull Sale and the Droughtmaster National Female Sale while the averages show they are still affordable quality. Bryvonlea routinely sell 8 to 10 bulls at the Bunya Bull sale at Coolabunia Saleyards on the first Sat in Sept and 10 to 12 bulls at the Droughtmaster National Bull Sale, Gracemere, in mid September and around 7 bulls at the Annual February All Breeds Bull Sale. Females are sold at the Cream of the Crop sale in November and the Droughtmaster National Female Sale in March.

The Hecks compete at the Annual Gympie Show, Woodford Show, Gatton Futurity and the Droughtmaster Feature Shows that are within easy travelling distance. In 2010 Bryvonlea Princess Mary took out the Champion Droughtmaster Female at the Brisbane RNA Show.

Visitors are welcome to inspect the Bryvonlea herd, please phone and make a time.
