Introduction
The Choice Angus Stud has settled well into the Upper Horton district after the big move in 2020 and the continuing good season has ensured that this years sale bulls are on track for our spring sale at the end of August. In 1994, the Marriott family at ‘Inglewood’ Molong purchased 500 Angus commercial females from Karoo, Kennys Creek, Hazeldeen and Sparta studs. We specifically purchased cattle from tough climatic areas that had a long history of running Angus cattle.
In 1995 all the females were entered into Angus Group Breedplan as base cows and all progeny were identified and performance/pedigree recorded for the next 10 years.
In 2004 the top 100 performing females in the then current ‘Inglewood’ herd were selected as the foundation females of the Choice Angus stud. They were registered as APR females and since then have always been AI’d to industry leading Angus sires and backed up with Stud sires that we have purchased. The other females became our commercial herd.
